Maxwell Foster piano
Winner of the 2008 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards
Maxwell Foster caught audiences’ attention around Australia in 2008 with his breathtaking performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. With this performance he won the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer Award for 2008 and the David Landa Memorial Scholarship for Pianists.
Maxwell is now a sought after concert performer with appearances in 2010 with the Melbourne, Adelaide, Western Australian, and Sydney Symphony Orchestras.
Maxwell has been asked to perform recitals with Musica Viva in their Melbourne and Sydney Coffee Concert Series and he is very excited to be invited to perform at Camden Haven's highly respected Musical Festival!
Beginning music as a young child in Brisbane, Maxwell was accepted into the Queensland Young Conservatorium of Music at eight where he studied under Jenni Flemming. After winning many awards in his home state of Queensland Maxwell's parents allowed him to make the huge step (at 13) of moving to Melbourne to study under Rita Reichman and to attend the Australian Academy of Music whilst boarding at Scotch College Melbourne.
Before winning the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer's Award, Maxwell had already performed with the Queensland Orchestra, Queensland's St. Lucia Orchestra, Melbourne's Pro Musica Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne Symphony.
